Intramural Sports FAQs

Active degree-seeking, main-campus Georgetown University students, Law school students, and Georgetown Faculty and Staff with an active Campus Recreation membership are eligible to participate in IMs events.

Campus Recreation members who do not meet this criterion are NOT eligible. Faculty/Staff, alumni, and students on a leave of absence are also NOT eligible. A Campus Recreation membership is required to participate in any IM event. This policy applies to Law school students who are not Campus Recreation members, as well as part-time students who do not meet the minimum enrollment credits for automatic Campus Recreation membership.

You can register as a free agent. The Intramural Staff will do their best to get you assigned to a team. This is a great way to meet new people!

All games will be played between 6:00pm – 10:00pm from Monday to Thursday, with the exception of some Sunday events. All Intramural games will be played inside Yates Field House or on Kehoe Field.

Cost depends on the event/sport. All league prices are listed next to each event/sport on IMLeagues.com/Georgetown

For league events, players may participate for ONLY one “Open” division team and ONLY one “Co-Ed” division team. Players may not participate for multiple “Open” division teams in the same event. For example, participating for BOTH an “Open A” team and an “Open B” team is a roster violation.

If a game is cancelled, the league will be evaluated and our staff will look to see if there are any time slots available for rescheduling.  Cancelling a game does not hurt nor benefit a team. Rescheduling the game is our primary goal, but sometimes due to court/field space or teams availability it does not work out. A message will be sent out through IMLeagues for all game cancellations.

You currently have 60 days from the date that your team was created to request a refund. From there the IM staff will review your request and get back to you as soon as they can.

To be issued a full refund you must notify the Intramural Department at least 48 hours in advance of your first game.
