COVID-19 Closure FAQs

Due to the rapid evolution surrounding the pandemic, Yates Field House is currently working on various logistics as it pertains to the suspension of memberships and membership add-ons, and the collection of personal items from rental lockers. Yates will be closed for in-person activities until further notice.

Student Memberships & Add-Ons

If you are an active-degree seeking undergraduate or graduate student, please remember there is no additional fee to use Yates Field House and thus nothing to refund.

If you are a student who registered for Yates access for the Spring 2020 Semester by completing the Student Access Form in the membership office of Yates please expect to see a prorated credit of approximately $100 on your student account by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 20.

UPDATE: The Yates credit has been applied to student accounts as of March 19, 2020. You may now request a refund of any resulting credit balance via MyAccess. For other questions about your student account, please email studentaccounts@georgetown.edu or call 202-687-7100.

If you are a medical student who was assessed the Spring Semester Yates Field House access fee, please expect to see a prorated credit of approximately $100 post to your student account by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17. You then may request a refund of any resulting credit balance via MyAccess. For other questions about your student account, please email studentaccounts@georgetown.edu or call 202-687-7100.

Yates will refund $27.78 for half lockers and $55.56 for full lockers.

UPDATE: We are currently working to refund all pro-rated locker fees. Students who have a locker rental will receive an email confirmation when their refund has been processed.

Due to the rapidly evolving nature of these circumstances, we ask that you come to collect all of your belongings during the below hours. We encourage you to bring a personal bag to collect your belongings.

UPDATE:

Georgetown University and Campus Recreation at Yates Field House continue to hold the safety of our members and staff of utmost importance. As we all do our part to follow the social distancing guidelines, Yates Field House will gladly hold your stored locker belongings through the duration of our closure. 

If you would like to pick up your locker belongings, please fill out our Rental Locker Pickup Form.

If you cannot come to a scheduled pick-up time and are a graduating senior who does not plan on returning to the area, or an undergraduate student unable to return to the area prior to the beginning of the fall semester, please fill out this form.

*Please note these hours are subject to change. Please visit recreation.georgetown.edu for the most up-to-date information. For those who cannot make it during our pickup hours, please note that rental locker items will NOT be discarded. Future pickup dates and times will be dependent upon the University’s operating status. Any updates will be posted here.

Yates will refund the cost of the remaining months purchased.

Non-Student Memberships & Add-Ons

Due to the rapidly evolving nature surrounding the COVID-19 circumstances, we appreciate your patience at this time as the Yates Field House team diligently works through financial logistics. We understand that this impacts your current paid membership privileges. Based on your valid dates of membership, we will arrange to extend all memberships, including towel and locker services, based on the impact of this closure.

All paid in full memberships will be extended to include the COVID-19 closure duration.

Similarly, locker rental and towel expirations will also be extended.

We are currently working with payroll services to suspend Yates membership deductions during the COVID-19 disruption.

UPDATE: Payroll deductions have been suspended during the COVID-19 disruption.

We are currently working with the Active team, our membership management system, to implement the following protocol:

-Membership fees will be suspended until Yates re-opens.
-Locker fees will be suspended until Yates re-opens.
-Towel Service fees will be suspended until Yates re-opens.
-All fees that are processed between March 16, 2020, our effective closing date, and the re-opening date will be refunded.

Effective March 25, 2020, all auto-deducted fees have been suspended.

UPDATE: All fees that have been deducted since March 16, 2020 have been refunded. Those who were refunded should have received an email confirmation with a receipt showing the refund.

-If you have met your annual contract obligation, Yates will waive the 30-day cancellation notification policy with emailed notice of your intent to cancel. 

-If you have not met your annual obligation you are still welcome to cancel at any point. Please note that because Yates has taken additional steps to suspend any fees during the COVID-19 disruption we are unable to waive the premature cancellation fees outlined in your membership contract. If members choose this option, all contract policies and procedures still apply.

Programs

Unlimited – Since we have offered classes for 6 of the 12 weeks in the Spring 2020 semester, you will be refunded 50% of the initial pass purchase price.

10-class pass – All pass purchasers will be refunded for any unused swipes remaining on their pass.

UPDATE: Refunds have been issued for unlimited class pass and 10-class pass purchases. Members should have received a confirmation email. Please click on the link provided to view the details of the receipt.

All patrons will be refunded for any unused sessions remaining in their package. Please allow at least seven business days for transactions to be processed.

All American Red Cross Certification courses have been cancelled and registration fees refunded.

Campus Recreation at Yates Field House offers these 0-credit classes free of charge in collaboration with the Registrar’s office. For specific questions regarding these classes, please contact Bethany Bower at bowerb@georgetown.edu.

Judo registrations will be refunded at 54% based on the specific package that was purchased.

All Intramural Sport team Spring registration fees will be refunded to your student account.

UPDATE: All refunds for any cancelled IM events have been processed.
