Welcome to Campus Recreation!
When entering Yates Field House, you will be welcomed at the Front Desk where you can swipe your GOCard or Yates ID for access.
To your left is the Campus Recreation Membership Office, which houses the director’s office, manager’s desk, five other professional staff members, and our office student employees. Come by the office for help with any membership or fitness inquiries!
Ahead of you as you enter Yates Field House is Studio A, a large multi-purpose space complete with hardwood floors and a variety of equipment for strength, cardio, dance, and mind-body classes.
The Mezzanine Level allows a magnificent overlook to Yates Field House’s basketball courts, cardio and weight areas, and racquet-sport courts. Turn left and follow the railing down to the Pool Gallery where you can overlook McCarthy Pool.
To your left before the Pool Gallery entrance is Studio B, a nationally certified Mad Dogg Athletics Spinning® studio, featuring 21 belt-driven Spinner® Rally bikes.

Enter the open lobby area to find a big screen TV, table tennis, vending machines, and the Evening Director’s office.
Continue through the lobby to approach the Pro Shop. Here, members can check out or rent equipment such as basketballs, weight belts, and rackets.
The lobby level hosts the Men and Women’s locker rooms, complete with rental and day lockers, showers, a sauna, and the entrance to the pool.
Continue through the Locker Rooms to enter McCarthy Pool, a 25-yard indoor pool with eight lanes and a separate diving well.
Main Activity Area
On the Main Activity Level find the four Gilroy Basketball Courts – two of which can be converted into volleyball courts – four tennis courts, two racquetball courts, five squash courts – two of which are international courts – and one golf bay.
The right side of the Main Activity Level hosts the cardio and weight training areas. Yates Field House has over 70 pieces of cardio equipment and over 40 pieces of selectorized machines.
Just past the cardio and weight areas, the core and stretching area features stretching mats and machines, BOSU® trainers, stability balls, plyometric platforms, and abdominal machines.
Circling the indoor tennis courts is a 200-meter, three-lane Mondo track.
