Summer Junior Tennis Camps

We are pleased to be working with Gonzaga College High School to host their Summer Junior Tennis Camps! These camps will be taught by Gonzaga Varsity Tennis Coach, and Campus Recreation teaching pro, Randy de Guzman. All camps can be registered for through Gonzaga College High School’s ActiveNet page. Please see below for all of the tennis camp offerings:

Weeks 1 & 2
Fundamentals Camps (Beginners-Intermediates)
June 29th – July 2nd OR July 6th – July 10th

Red Ball (1st-3rd grade) | 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
8-10 players
$200/week, $50-drop-in
Designed for younger players 6-8 years old working on making contact, returning the ball and basic court coverage. The class will focus on improving motor skills, hand eye coordination and an understanding of the game. 

Orange Ball (3rd-5th grade) | 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
8-10 players
$300/week, $60-drop-in
Designed for players 8-10 years old with little to no experience and can serve—underhand or overhead from behind the service line. The class will focus on increasing court coverage and stamina, learning basic technical skills and improved understanding of the game. 

Green Ball (4th-6th grade) | 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
8-10 players
$300/week, $60-drop-in
Designed for players 9-11 years old with some experience and can serve—underhand or overhead from behind the baseline. Strength and conditioning routine will be included.

Weeks 3 & 4
Competitive Camps (Matchplay ready)
July 13th – July 17th OR July 20th – July 24th

Yellow Ball (4th-8th grade) | 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
12-16 players
$450/week, $100 drop-in
Designed for players who are able to serve—overhead and/or underhand from behind the baseline and are capable of using and covering the full court for play.

All tennis and squash clinics enable each player to train and work on their skills in a structured environment with players of similar ability. If you are unsure of which clinic to enroll in, please contact Kathleen Collins-BellRegistration for all tennis clinics is required, and participants must register at least three (3) days in advance of the clinic. We reserve the right to cancel any clinic with less than 3 registrants.

Before First Day

Registration will be done through ActiveNet.

  1. Reserve a spot and pay: To register, log in to your online account (new window) and select the appropriate class for your child.
  2. Sign our Racquet Sports waiver.

Adult Clinics

Minimum of 4 players, maximum of 6 in a group.

Cardio Tennis

Tennis 101

Taught by Randy de Guzman
This class is for students ages 6-8 years old.
Introduction to the basic tennis concepts of hitting a ball into the court and receiving a ball landing in the courts. Players will develop basic hand-eye coordination and positioning on the court. This clinic will utilize red balls.

This class is for students ages 8-11 years old.
Tennis concepts will be reinforced through playing. Players will learn proper technique and will be introduced to basic tennis strategy/tactics. This class will utilize orange balls.

the use of power. This class will utilize green balls.

This class is for students ages 6 to 8 years old.
This class is for advanced beginner players. Players will mainly play with a red, low-compression ball and a 30-foot court (service line to service line).

This class is for students ages 9 to 13 years old.
This class is for intermediate/advanced players. Players will mainly play with a regular compression, yellow tennis ball and a regulation, 70-foot court. Players must be able to serve overhead and underhand from the baseline.

Tennis courts are located inside Yates Field House on the campus of Georgetown University.  If you are driving, you can enter campus from Canal Road or Entrance #4 on Reservoir Road.

All members, guests, and visitors driving to campus must park in the Southwest Quadrangle parking garage. From the garage, Yates Field House is a short walk up the hill between McDonough Gym and Cooper Field.

Visitors parking in the Southwest Garage will pay the hourly rate Monday through Saturday – parking is free on Sundays.

Give yourself more time as it is about a 5-minute walk up the hill to the Field House.

Campus Map

There is no parking in the lot adjacent to Yates Field House; those who park in the lot beside Yates risk a $125 dollar ticket.

We do not offer make-ups for missed group tennis lessons.
