An Alabama native, Jim “Wedge” Sullivan came to Georgetown in August 1980 when he accepted an internship after completing Graduate School. In January 1981 as Yates expanded its professional staff he became the Assistant Evening Manager where he remained for a year.
In January 1983 Wedge became the first Assistant Director of Intramural Sports, Summer Camps and Special Programs where he remained until August 1987. Wedge then became the Director of Athletic Support Services and left Yates for McDonough Arena which became his home for the next 19 years. In September 2006 he came back to Yates as the Director of Intramurals, where he remains today.
