Winter Break Hours

All Campus Recreation facilities will be closed from Monday, December 23rd to Wednesday, January 1st for the Winter Holiday Break. Have a safe and relaxing holiday! We will reopen on Thursday, January 2nd.

Facility Hours

Campus Recreation will operate on the following hours:
Study Days/Finals Week Hours (Friday, December 13th – Sunday, December 22nd)
Yates Main Floor and Kehoe Field
Monday – Friday: 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Saturday – Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.

McCarthy Pool:
Monday – Friday: 7:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. | 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Saturday – Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Membership Office:
Monday (12/16) – Friday (12/20): 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Saturday (12/21) – Sunday (12/22): Closed

Pro Shop: (subject to change due to staff availability)
Friday (12/13) – Friday (12/20): 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Saturday (12/21) – Sunday (12/22): Closed

Holiday Hours

Campus Recreation will operate with adjusted hours during the following days:
Winter Break (Monday, December 23rd – Wednesday, January 1st)
All Campus Recreation facilities will be closed from Monday, December 23rd to Wednesday, January 1st for the Winter Holiday Break. We will reopen on Thursday, January 2nd.

Pre-Spring Hours (Thursday, January 2nd – Tuesday, January 7th)
Yates Main Floor and Kehoe Field
Monday – Friday: 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Saturday – Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

McCarthy Pool:
Monday – Friday: 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. | 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. | 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Saturday – Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Membership Office:
Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Saturday – Sunday: Closed

Pro Shop:
The Pro Shop will be closed during this period. Those with towel service can obtain a towel from the front desk.

Spring Hours (Begin Wednesday, January 8th)
Spring Semester hours will begin when classes begin on Wednesday, January 8th. These hours will be posted here soon.

Weather Scenarios & Operational Status

The operational status of Campus Recreation is determined by the overall status of the university as announced by DEMOC on the Georgetown University Operational Status webpage. The list below describes the Campus Rec status scenarios pending DEMOC announcements.

We’re open. Everything normal.

•Yates Field House and Kehoe Field open normal hours 
•LRED classes held unless notified otherwise by the instructor
•Group Fitness ON as scheduled
•Intramurals ON as scheduled 

•Yates Field House and Kehoe Field open when the campus opens 
•LRED, Group Fitness, & Intramurals that take place after opening will be held 

•Yates Field House and Kehoe Field open at Noon 
•LRED, Group Fitness – cancelled 
•Check Campus Recreation website for Intramurals updates 
•Check Campus Recreation website for potential closing time changes 

•If students are on a Holiday break, Yates Field House and Kehoe Field are closed 
•If students are at campus: Yates Field House and Kehoe Field open at Noon 
•LRED, Group Fitness – cancelled

•Yates Field House and Kehoe Field will close early, check Campus Recreation website for closing time 
•Any LRED, Group Fitness & Intramurals activities scheduled after the “designated departure time” are cancelled.

  • In the event of lightning and/or thunder during field operating hours, Campus Recreation will utilize the 8-mile radius protocol
  • The protocol states: Once lightning has been detected within 8 miles of the facility, Kehoe Field will be closed immediately. Kehoe Field will remain closed for a minimum of 30 minutes, starting from the most recent strike within the 8-mile radius.
  • Once lightning is detected within the range of 8 miles, Kehoe Field will be closed immediately. The KFA will encourage all users on the field to seek shelter indoors.
