2019 August Maintenance Closing

Every August, Yates Field House closes for up to two weeks to complete maintenance projects, facility updates, and general cleaning and refreshing of the facility.

NOTICE: YATES FIELD HOUSE WILL CLOSE FOR MAINTENANCE BEGINNING at 5 p.m. on FRIDAY, AUGUST 2, 2019 (Pool Closing at 4:30 p.m.). WE WILL REOPEN AT 6 a.m. ON MONDAY, AUGUST 19, 2019.

As we have in the past, Yates has again partnered with the GU Law Center to provide fitness services, and the University of the District of Columbia to provide aquatic services during this time. Use of the alternate facilities is free with an active Yates membership. Please show your GoCard or Yates ID to enter either facility.

The deadline to sign up for GU Law Center facility use has passed. Members interested in using the UDC Natatorium (Aquatic Center) do not need to sign up for access to the center.

Law school fitness center Hours of Operation

This location has both a fitness center and a pool. The pool at this location will be closed for maintenance Monday, August 12 – Sunday, August 25, 2019. If you signed up for access during the signup period, to enter, please show your GoCard or Yates ID.

Directions to UDC Enter facility on Yuma and 35th. On-campus garages and neighborhood on street-parking is available.

Paid street parking is available on Yuma and 35th. Once parked, take the staircase across the street from the Yuma Gardens Residential Community. For reference, UDC’s tennis courts are to the left of the staircase. When you reach the top of the staircase, enter the sports complex through the double doors on the right. The doors do not open until 7 am, when the pool opens.

Once inside, go towards the back wall that contain trophy displays and then left down the hall. Trophies should be on your right and the interior stairs should be on your left. Continue through the double doors on the right and then take a sharp left down the next hall. Straight ahead, there’s a door to the pool. Once through that door, write your name on the Yates Field House sign–in sheet that’s on the table along the wall. Locker rooms are located inside the Natatorium along the same wall as the table.
