Group Fitness Class Descriptions

The Group Fitness program offers a variety of classes for all ages, fitness levels and skill. Please refer to our list of class descriptions below for more information on our scheduled programs. This class will keep you guessing as to what to anticipate each week. Expect to build your strength, endurance, agility, cardio, and mental toughness! You will definitely leave feeling accomplished!

Open to all skill levels from beginner/intermediate to advanced. We’ll teach you all the pugilistic skills: the punches, the footwork, offense & defense. Coursework also includes technical drills and instruction on proper use of equipment. Once you’ve mastered the basics, step into the ring and try it out!

Dance your way into fitness with this hip-hop-based exercise class! Choreography is designed to get your heart rate up without you even realizing it. All skill levels are welcome; All you need is you (and maybe a towel and water bottle)!

This class includes stretching, strengthening, increasing flexibility and relaxing the mind and body while performing Yoga postures.

A strength and conditioning class that emphasizes constantly-varied, high-intensity functional movement. Work cardiovascular endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy, maximizing your performance and fitness for any physical challenge or activity! No experience required.

In Sanskrit, Kripalu means “compassion” and yoga means “union”. In other words, Kripalu yoga is an invitation to engage in a practice of yoga that focuses on cultivating compassionate awareness in order to bring the physical body, mind and spirit into deeper union with each other. This means leaving judgment at the door and bringing only one’s presence (and perhaps a water bottle). A typical class progresses from a centering activity into warm ups, asanas (postures) and ends in a short relaxation. All postures are optional and different iterations will be offered to tailor the class to your liking. Participants of all levels are welcome and encouraged to attend!

A gentle mix of strength training and stretching exercises designed for the “mature” adult. Move at a comfortable pace with a focus on correct form and technique. All ages welcome, but geared towards the older adult.

Thirty minutes of step aerobics followed by thirty minutes of toning, using the BOSU and stability ball, at a pace preferred by “mature” adults. All ages welcome, but geared towards the older adult.

PiYo is a low impact, high intensity cardio workout that combines the core-firming benefits of Pilates with the strength and flexibility of yoga movements. You will sweat, stretch, and strengthen using only your body weight! PiYo classes are designed for all fitness levels, using progressions and regressions so everyone is challenged.

Strengthen the whole body as you flow through traditional postures at a faster pace in this class. All levels welcome. Expect to sweat!

This class is for those of you who like variety; no two classes will ever be the same! TBC incorporates complex movements that utilizes multiple muscle groups at one time, making a very highly effective and timely workout. This class will help increase your muscular endurance, strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular endurance in addition to overall performance. Anyone is welcome! Be advised—you will most likely need a shower afterward!

New to yoga? This class is for folks who are brand new to yoga, or want a more gentle practice. Expect to move slowly, and to learn how to develop clear and safe alignment in any pose. Come to learn, play, and maybe even break a sweat in a supportive environment. You don’t need to be flexible or strong, you just need the willingness to try every pose with integrity!

A fusion of Latin and International music with dance themes that create a dynamic, exciting, effective fitness system. It features aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body to maximize caloric output, fat burning and total body toning.

A high-energy 45-minute ride with 15 minutes of powerful core work at the end. Add core stability to the cardiovascular and strength benefits of Spinning for an unbeatable workout.

An all-terrain ride that will burn calories, build strength, and improve fitness. The energetic music motivates each rider through a variety of speed and resistance challenges. Each class will take you on a creatively designed ride to maximize your fitness potential.

A 45-minute class designed to give riders an intense, time-efficient ride. All the benefits of a Spinning class – you just get to your destination sooner.

Challenge your body with an hour-long workout that combines a high energy 45 min ride with 15 minutes of off the bike circuits to deliver a full body workout, strengthening and sculpting your body at the same time!
