Club Sports are a great way to get involved at Georgetown – there are over 35 clubs to choose from!
Each club is unique. For more information bout a specific club, click on the club’s link below to get current information.
Badminton
Georgetown Club Badminton was created to provide the opportunity for members to play badminton, develop and improve their skills, and to participate in training and competitive matches in intercollegiate and open tournaments. This team is open membership.
Baseball
Georgetown University Club Baseball was founded in the spring of 2002 and has been the other Georgetown Baseball team ever since. We are a member of the National Club Baseball Association and play in the District III North division (D-II).
Basketball (Men’s)
Georgetown University Men’s Club Basketball competes in tournaments along the East Coast against other collegiate competition throughout the entire school year. The club leads and organizes team practices, tournaments, and extracurricular events.
Basketball (Women’s)
Georgetown University Women’s Club Basketball is an organization dedicated to giving women an opportunity to extend their love of basketball and commitment to the game throughout college. It is an open, equal environment that promotes competition and having fun.
Boxing
Georgetown University Club Boxing is an intercollegiate, amateur-level, competitive boxing team. We meet three times a week for boxing practice and two times a week for [cardio-based] conditioning. Competitions take place year-round, and we travel domestically and internationally.
Equestrian
Georgetown University Club Equestrian is a team that has weekly practices and competes in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Zone 4 Region 1. We take lessons at Lakeside Stables in Poolesville, Maryland. The team consists of approximately 10 to 15 riders a semester, from walk-trot levels to open jumpers.
Fencing
The Georgetown University Fencing Club exists to promote the sport of fencing. We actively seek new and experienced fencers from all three weapons (foil, sabre, and epee) to learn more about this sport and to train and participate in local competitions.
Figure Skating
Georgetown Figure Skating Club was founded on two pillars: the opportunity to provide education about figure skating and the opportunity for figure skaters to continue to practice and compete. We practice together at local rinks and compete at 2-3 competitions each year on the USFS Intercollegiate Circuit.
Field Hockey
Club Field Hockey plays in both the fall and the spring. We practice two nights a week and play games on the weekends. The practices are held on campus. One practice a week is mandatory. The team is usually female-dominated, but males are more than welcome to play as well!
Golf
Founded in the fall of 2012, Georgetown University Club Golf seeks to promote the game of golf by providing the opportunity for golfers to sharpen their skills and compete in non-varsity intercollegiate matches. We are members of the National Collegiate Club Golf Association (NCCGA).
Ice Hockey (Men’s)
The Georgetown Ice Hockey team is the two-time Champion of the Atlantic Coast Collegiate Hockey League (ACCHL). We compete against Division I, II, and III ACHA teams from up and down the East Coast.
Lacrosse (Men’s)
The Georgetown University Men’s Lacrosse Club was founded in 1991 in order to provide undergraduate men with an opportunity to continue playing lacrosse in college, without the demands of a varsity program.
Lacrosse (Women’s)
The Georgetown University Women’s Club Lacrosse Team is established for the purpose of enjoying the sport of women’s lacrosse in a fun and competitive atmosphere. The team has been consistently ranked in our league at a national level. Women may join regardless of their ability level.
Rock Climbing
Georgetown University Club Rock Climbing provides undergraduates an organization through which they can train their rock climbing skills for the purpose of competing in indoor competitions.
Rugby (Men’s)
The Georgetown University Rugby Club was founded in 1967. After years of success at the Division II level, the GURFC now competes in in Chesapeake Collegiate Rugby Conference of DIAA. The team plays in a competitive Rugby Sevens league in the spring, as well as in national sevens tournaments in Las Vegas.
Rugby (Women’s)
Georgetown University Women’s Rugby Football Club was founded in 2000 and has since won PRU championships 4 times, made it to the Mid-Atlantic Rugby Football Union tournament 3 times, and played in the Sweet 16s at Nationals. GUWRFC welcomes players both old and new to the sport!
Running
This club brings together the runners of Georgetown University and provides the opportunity to run as part of a structured group. We meet for group runs and workouts throughout the week, race in DC road races, and compete against other university clubs in NIRCA-sanctioned meets as well as DIII meets.
Soccer (Men’s)
The Georgetown University Men’s Club Soccer team is a group of undergraduate students that practices and plays games against other Universities in the DC Metro Area. We play regularly against George Washington, George Mason, Loyola, and the University of Maryland.
Soccer (Women’s)
Women’s Club Soccer Team was founded in 2011. Each year, we select around 30 girls to play both a fall and a spring season. In November 2005, the team attended the Northeast Intercollegiate Recreational Soccer Association Regionals tournament for the first time. In November 2006, GUWCS finished 2nd in their Regionals bracket.
Softball
The Club Softball team provides women the opportunity to play competitive softball at a level between intramural and varsity softball. We practice twice a week and compete regularly against other collegiate club softball teams.
Squash (Men’s)
Georgetown University Men’s Club Squash is the official men’s squash team at Georgetown. We represent Georgetown University in the College Squash Association and compete against other club and varsity programs.
Squash (Women’s)
We represent Georgetown University in the College Squash Association and play against other club teams as well as varsity programs. We currently have a team of 14 women and practice up to four times a week. Our season starts in November and finishes in February with Nationals.
Swimming
Georgetown University Club Swimming was created in order to offer Georgetown students the opportunity to improve their swimming skills and to compete at an intercollegiate, non-varsity, level. We are an inclusive group, welcoming male and female swimmers of all abilities.
Tennis
Georgetown University Club Tennis (GUCT) provides any willing Georgetown student with the opportunity to play tennis in either a social or competitive setting and hosts service initiatives and social activities. We pride ourselves on the cohesiveness of our group members and are proud to offer open membership.
Triathlon
The Georgetown University Triathlon Team was founded in the Fall of 2005 and began competitively racing in the Spring of 2006. The Team currently consists of more than 40 student-athletes, from all four undergraduate schools and the graduate Law & Medical schools.
Ultimate Frisbee (Men’s)
We are the Georgetown University Men’s Ultimate Frisbee team. As a club, we have two teams: the A team, Catholic Justice, and the B team, Black Squirrels. We are a competitive and committed group with about 70 members and a goal of competing at college nationals.
Ultimate Frisbee (Women’s)
We are the women’s club ultimate frisbee team-an incredibly motivated, dedicated, and fun-loving team! We have an A and a B squad that each practice 2-3 days/week and attend 3-5 tournaments/semester. We believe in the divine power of muscle memory, the explosive grade of adrenalin, the sheer joy of the sprint to the finish, and the spirit of the game. peace.love.ultimate.
Volleyball (Men’s)
Georgetown University Men’s Volleyball Club is established to create a community for Georgetown students to practice and play volleyball and to represent Georgetown University in local and national competitions.
Volleyball (Women’s)
Women’s Club Volleyball was established for the purpose of developing individual skills, team building, and representing Georgetown University in volleyball competitions regionally as well as nationally. Our season culminates each spring with the team representing Georgetown at the NCVF National Tournament. Our team is comprised of all levels of skill and experience.
Water Polo (Men’s)
A competitive club water polo team that competes against other colleges up and down the East Coast. We are a strong group of athletes and strive to build even stronger relationships within our team. Consistent finisher at the top of our league.
Water Polo (Women’s)
As a part of the Collegiate Water Polo Association, we participate in tournaments with other CWPA schools throughout the Mid-Atlantic in the spring semester. An essential part of our training takes place in the fall and we scrimmage with nearby universities. We welcome players of all experience levels! Swimming experience is required.
