Emmabeth Jensen joined the Campus Recreation team in June 2022 as the Aquatics Coordinator.
The Aquatics Coordinator is responsible for coordination and oversight of adult and children learn-to-swim programs, providing oversight of Campus Recreation Lifeguard staff assisting with in-service training for all student staff, as well as assisting with daily maintenance of McCarthy pool, including water chemistry and pool maintenance.
Prior to her arrival at Georgetown, Emmabeth was a Graduate Assistant Swim Coach and lead lifeguard at Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond, OKC. Emmabeth was involved in multiple leadership roles including logistics, programming, scheduling, and assistance with pool maintenance. She completed her master’s in Business Administration.
Emmabeth moved from Australia to the United States in 2016 to swim for the University of North Texas. Prior to her undergraduate studies, Emmabeth taught swim school and lifeguarded whilst simultaneously competing at an international and national level for both Australia and New Zealand.
On days off, Emmabeth enjoys spending time with family, any water-related activities, fashion design and traveling. She wants you to know that if you visit Australia, it is very unlikely that a dangerous animal will harm you in any way–unless you like to place yourself in obscure situations!
